Biomechanics

What is a biomechanical assessment?

A biomechanical assessment helps us to understand how well your foot and lower limb is functioning and identify the underlying cause of any injured or weakened structures. This is done through physical and observational tests as well as taking a thorough and detailed history.

Some common conditions that may require a biomechanical assessment include:

Achilles pain
Ankle pain
Arthritis
Foot pain
Heel pain (plantar faciitus)
Morton's Neuroma
Running injuries
Tendinopathies (tendonitis)

Once we have identified the cause of your problems then potential treatments may include a combination of:

Load management
Strapping and taping
Stretching and strengthening exercises.
Orthotics
Footwear advice
